“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
*My thoughts: The second part of this scripture starting with “Be strong and courageous” are probably quoted much more often than the full scripture. To me, it seems that you need the first part in order to get to the second part. It starts first with what you need to do – study the Book of the Law (which now would be known as the Bible) and actually do what it says. That is how you will get to the prosperity and success. I think knowing the Lord is with you wherever you go only has meaning when you know who the Lord is and what that means to have him with you. Then it makes sense that you should be strong and courageous and not frightened or dismayed because the Lord is with you – isn’t that a great comfort!
