Scripture – Philippians 1:21-24

“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account.”

*My thoughts: This is probably my favorite scripture. To live is Christ, to die is gain. There is no fear in death for a Christian because death means departing this world to be with Christ where there is no sorrow, sadness, fear, or evil. But this scripture also mentions how we should live in the time before we die – to live is Christ, it means living as Christ lived, it means loving one another, it means spreading the truth about Jesus, it means fruitful labor and having compassion. To me, this scripture also says ‘You think this life is good? Oh, just wait for what happens next…”
