“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”
*My thoughts: This is probably the most well-known of the scriptures but it does contain a lot of information in two short sentences. Here are five facts that I see in this scripture: (1) God loved the world – I am pretty sure this is referring to the people in the world, (2) God gave his only Son – there are no others like Jesus, he is the one and only, (3) Believing in Jesus means eternal life – simple as it is, that’s really all it takes to be saved through faith, (4) Jesus did not come to condemn the world – and Christians shouldn’t come to condemn either, (5) Jesus came so that the people in the world might be saved by believing in him – Christians should have this as a focus more than a focus on condemning others. Two simple sentences containing 5 truths.
